6 Things #71: May
Hey friends, how’s it going? I’m here with a fresh dose of 6 things that've been happening/keeping my heart happy lately (in and outside of music). If you’re new here, hello! Welcome to my newsletter. Thanks so much for being here and spending a few moments of your month with me ❤️ Let’s get crackin’, shall we?
Surprise, surprise, I’m behind 😂 but I think you know the score by now, sometimes life runs away with you, and that’s okay! May was such a joyful month (yes lol, that’s how behind we are): my 30th being the main event and lots of really beautiful, wholesome things happened too. Here are my highlights:
1. 🪩 Special Visit
My gorgeous friend Ellen stayed with us for a weekend in May! 🥹 We went to uni together (many years ago now and rarely get to see each other in-person, so it was super special spending a weekend together and catching up. A lush start to the month ⭐️
2. 📺 This City Is Ours
As per Ellen’s recommendation, we watched This City Is Ours. If you love a mafia/crime drama, this will be right up your street. It’s gritty, thrilling, keeps you on your toes and I friggin’ LOVE the last episode (no spoilers, of course!). One to watch!
3. 📺 Pottery Painting
My one request for my 30th was to paint pottery with my mum and sister; it’s something we did a lot as kids and I thought it’d be a lush keepsake for entering a new decade. Did I realise how stressful it was going to be to have a time limit for painting? Absolutely not 😂 We painted one thing each and they all turned out so cute!! Here’s my vase (flowers pending) 🍋
4. 📺 Legends
My fave watch recently! Legends hits three of my go-to categories when it comes to picking a series: based on true events (mostly), crime/mafia drama, undercover agents. It’s also quite funny in places, for all it’s a serious topic. I loved it SO MUCH, I would watch it again. If you’re on the hunt for a new series, this is a great one!
5. 🌲 Rest + Wild
Picture this: no internet, (almost) no signal, a gorgeous view and an outdoor bath. Joe tret us to the snazziest, off-grid getaway in the Yorkshire Dales for my 30th and it was divine. We learned how to play backgammon, had many cuppas, got drenched on a hike and fully switched off for a few days. If you’re after a peaceful break in the countryside (and a major upgrade from camping), Rest + Wild have a few locations across the UK. I highly recommend!
6. 🌞 Wedding of the Year
We spent a portion of May in sunny Tenerife for a GORGEOUS wedding (and a couple of very chill days by the pool)! Did I forget to put suncream on on the day of the wedding and still have visible tan/burn lines two months later? Yep 😂 It was full of colour, laughter, great food and even better company. A lush way to end a very joyful month 🌺
So, they're my 6 things for May! What have you been your highlights recently? Any recommendations? I’d love to hear from you.
Until my next update, you know where to find me 😎
Big love, Jodie x
